Squadcation

Privacy Policy

Squadcation is a free group-trip planner and travel-guide site. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We don't sell your personal information.

What we collect

  • Trip content you create — destinations, dates, ideas, lodging, expenses, and notes you add to a trip. Stored so we can provide the service and sync it to your devices.
  • Account info (optional) — if you sign in to sync across devices, we store your email address and a user identifier via our authentication provider. Signing in is optional; without it, trips are saved only on your device.
  • Usage & device data — pages viewed, actions taken, approximate location (from IP), browser/device type, and referring site, collected through analytics tools to understand and improve the product.
  • Technical/security data — IP address and request metadata, used to operate the site securely and prevent abuse.

Cookies & local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your trips on your device, and measure usage via analytics. You can clear these in your browser at any time; doing so may sign you out or remove locally-saved trips.

How we use it

To run and sync the planner, respond to feedback, keep the service secure, and improve the product. We do not use your trip content for advertising.

Who processes data for us

We rely on service providers who process data on our behalf: Cloudflare (hosting, storage, security), Clerk (sign-in), Resend (email, if you invite others), and analytics providers Google Analytics, PostHog, and Cloudflare Web Analytics. If you share a trip by link, the people you share it with can see that trip.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate links — if you click and book/buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and a referral identifier may be passed to the merchant. This never changes what you pay. See any page's affiliate disclosure for detail.

Retention

Trips are kept while they're active and expire after a period of inactivity. You can remove synced trips from a device by signing out, and you can ask us to delete your data (below).

Your choices

Sign out to remove synced trips from that device; use your browser's Do-Not-Track / cookie controls to limit analytics; or contact us to access or delete your information.

Children

Squadcation isn't directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes & contact
